Welcome to St Michaels RC Primary School

I am pleased to welcome you to St. Michael’s and to the start of our partnership in your child’s education.  St Michael’s is a two form entry primary school with a 52 place nursery. It has been serving our local Catholic community in Chatham for over 150 years.

As a staff team we work hard to provide a good education for all our pupils within a caring and stimulating learning environment.  We are very proud of the children at our school and are constantly striving to develop outstanding teaching and learning in an atmosphere of respect and support for each other.

I look forward to welcoming you to our school.  I believe that St Michael’s is a place where children can develop into well-balanced, committed, curious learners, being both confident and happy at school.

I hope that you enjoy your visit to our website.  Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any more information or would like to visit us to meet the staff and children.

Views of the School

St Michael’s RC Primary School and Nursery is located right next to St Michael The Archangel R C Church, just five minutes from Chatham train station. We are about ten minutes walk from the town centre. If you would like to look around, please feel free to visit our gallery page.

Our School Governors

Governors are not staff.  They are volunteers that use their skills to monitor the running of the school, including educational standards, finance and use of resources, overall direction and planning, curriculum and behaviour, staff appointments and training and keeping everyone safe.

CIRCLE Values

Our Catholic ethos is central to all that we do. We promote our school C.I.R.C.L.E values which are in keeping with our distinctive Catholic nature.

Healthy Eating

Here at St Michaels RC Primary, your child’s growth, development and educational needs are important to us. A healthy and nutritious diet helps to contribute to their overall growth and decreases the risk of obesity and other health problems.

Our Diocesan Report

The Catholic community recognises the importance of school self-evaluation as a continuous process that is complemented from time to time by external inspection.

The purpose of inspection is to assist the school in its continuing work of self-evaluation through the identification of particular strengths, of areas requiring further improvement, and of progress made since the last inspection.

Our Ofsted Report

Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services, and Skills.  It is the government organisation tasked with inspecting and regulating care for children and young people.  This includes inspecting educational facilities for learners of any age.
