5th April 2019 Newsletter

Dear All,

We are now at the last day of the Spring term even though Easter isn’t for another couple of weeks. We had 2 beautiful Stations of the Cross Ceremonies for the infants and the juniors. When we return which will be at the beginning of the Easter season, we will be looking at the Easter story in more detail. I am really looking forward to seeing the children parade this afternoon in their Easter bonnets and get those lovely Easter Eggs.

This week we received a new award called “ Nourish the Workplace” which we have been working hard on. Its all about staff well being and work life balance– mental health is very current at the moment. After carrying out a staff survey and then putting together an action plan we have been given the award. We are one of the few schools in Medway to have this and it is a testament to how we value our hard working staff.

We are all ready for the holidays but we still need to keep those skills sharp. On the school website there will be homework posted under each class page and don’t forget about our Easter Reading Challenge. The children have been asked to read some poems on Easter and spring and then complete a chart with the name of the poems inserted. Once handed in each child will receive house points, a certificate for completing the challenge, which will be displayed in the library, and they will be invited to a celebration party. Good luck and enjoy reading.

The first day back after the holidays for the children is Wednesday 24th April as the 23rd April is an inset day. We will be posting the dates including inset days for the next academic year to help everyone plan events.

Have a happy and holy Easter and we will see you on 24th April– hopefully the weather will be more seasonal.

Mrs Kathy Sexton
